Photojournalism and Bias
Words may strive to appeal to the logical portion of our minds. But the images captured by photojournalists, often take hold of our hearts and reach us on a more primal emotional level. Stated by Bettye Lane. In this image, I see a group of people saddened by what I assume is the death of FDR, one of the most loved presidents in a generation. I also see the love and compassion not only coming from peers that were involved with that specific person but also workers, musicians, and artists. I interpret the image in a way that provides deep sorrow for a strongly loved individual that made the most of an impact on the men and women around them. This photo means plenty of things and can be interpreted in many positive and negative ways but mainly this photo should be seen as, how people react when losing someone they have loved endlessly.
(Is the image black or white)
The image is black and white and creates a depressing impact on the viewer due to the camera's perspective and mood when capturing. At the time the photographer could only compose black and white photography at the time. The mood is set as a sorrow, glum feeling spread throughout all characters in photo.
(Facial Expression)
The spotlight of the musician, in deep sadness with tears running down his face is the main focus of the photo. A respectful and mature look is presented by the musician while he continues to play while being in pain and sadness. The image captured my attention with the many faces that look so depressed not only due to the saddened musician but also the death of a loved one.
(Depth of field)
The photographer captures the perfect amount of area to focus on to determine the mood for the photograph. The photo uses the maximum depth of field in this photo. The depth of field directs the main focus towards the many emotions being expressed throughout the many faces presented in the photograph.

This image would fit perfectly as my biased and untrue image that would need to be represented. As many would presume the photographer would be capturing a photo like this of Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. I believe this photo was created and taken due to the biased reason for many of the media's favorite, I believe the photographer Rick T. Wilking captured this in an untrue fashion. Due to many reasons, this image represents Donald Trump listening or at least not talking over Hilary while she answers a question or makes a point. Also, the photographer captures Hilary as the wide-eyed dominant explosive in a way candidate during this run for the presidency. “We’re always attuned to photographic manipulation, but what was more sinister in this situation was the misappropriation of a photo.” Photojournalists take many biased pictures of political figures to make them out to look like monsters. In this image, Trump looks dismissive, unpleased, and not paying attention. Although this may not be in his character, this is what the photo perceives based on the photographer's point of view. Hillary looks assertive. From what this picture presents I think the photographer is a fan of Hillary.
Photojournalists have developed a world that is now more biased than truth based on so many levels. What could now become or seen as truthful could not be as true and as promising as everyone sees because of the many times that photographers are biased when taking pictures. Although to some, this might seem true to character, it still does not mean the picture was taken with unbiased intentions. When an image is altered by biased conception is projected due to the problematic mistakes that have created large concerns in the multimedia due to the fact that many pictures could be truthful if the photographer did not purposely take a biased photo.
(Exposure Time)
Slow shutter speed on a high definition camera would be the result of this photo's clarity. The slower shutter speed was used to focus on the two main characters in the photo and blur out the audience in the background. The speed of the shutter created the mood in being tense or having a tense, controversial situation.
(Rule of Thirds)
The main subjects are considered to be in the middle and left third of the photo. The right side of the photo does not have any important subject matter. The photographer off-centered the photo so you can see the expressions of both individuals.
(Keep it simple)
The composition is very simple due to the complexity of the two figureheads. The blur of the background creates a simple perspective of the two candidates on stage. The only thing that could've blurred the concept and taken away from the main point would be one of the candidates getting in the way of the other.

Photojournalist capture photos in today's world that have qualities of being real and being fake by the angle and the way a photojournalist captures it. Some photographers add such things to create images quality and also an image's meaning. In this photo, nothing but the truth could be captured when taking a photo out of a helicopter and seeing all precious land demolished by a typhoon. As you can see on the left side of the photo, a man dangerously stands outside a blown-out wall on the second floor of his home that was also destroyed with the wreckage. An image like this would not have been altered in time to be seen differently, what is expressed throughout this photo is all raw emotion.
(In or Out focus)
The sharpness of this photo is captured as it has seen, there doesn't need to be clearer than it is because all of the destruction can be seen. This photo is slightly blurred to provide a dirty more depressing look to the photo. Also black and white provides an in and out attitude expressed.
(Feelings)
The light in the image provides a gloomy expression that doesn't capture your eye but instead starts a mood. The light can also be considered bland, bland in the sense that there are more revealing and intriguing objects in the photo. The direction doesn't provide a hopeful meaning in the highlight of the photo.
(Main subject)
The whole picture could be considered as a subject. The main subject would be the damage that was caused in the photo. The subject is based on all three sections of the photo.
